We have now opened up our articles and analysis for reader comments.

You will first need to register to do this. It is quick and easy. Simply click on the Sign In button at the top. You can sign in or sign up with Google, or create a separate account.

Your registration will need to be approved. Once approved, we will welcome your observations.

It is important that you confine your commenting to the matters presented in the article.

And it is important that you are always considered, concise, and on-point.

Please be respectful of others, especially those who hold different worldviews to you. Debate is welcome, but insults of any kind are not. This applies to other commenters, the authors, even politicians. Criticise their policy positions if you must, not them personally.

We will block uncivil conversation or outrageous accusations. And anything potentially libellous or actionable in a court will also be removed with the account at risk of blocking.

But insightful comment will always be welcomed. Many readers know as much as we do or our authors in some aspects of what we report on. Feel free to point out where you think our coverage is missing the aspects that should be noted.

Please to post comments.

Comment interface looks pretty slick, nicer than I remember the .co.nz version being. Seems I can't reply to mrb though - an oversight, or experimenting with ways to keep the comment section civil?

Yes, a reply function will help readability with the flow of the thread being maintained.
