Today's changes to interest rates

Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, so far.

For home loans:

Bank Australia has reduced the rate on its Offset Refinance offer by -10 bps across all products.

Greater Bank has also reduced its Great Rate home loan by -10 bps to 5.84% for owner-occupier loans including the interest only option.

For savings accounts:

No changes to report today.

For term deposits:

The Commbank six month 'special offer 5.10% rate ends today. But they will no doubt have a new one tomorrow.

AMP has trimmed its Bank Go six month rate by -10 bps to 5.05%, and its one year rate to 5.30%.

Macquarie Bank has trimmed its 6 month, 9 month and 1 year Digital Classic rates by -5 bps each to 5.05%, 5.10% and 5.15% respectively for TDs of $1 mln and less. Rates are -15 bps lower for TDs over $1 mln.
