Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, so far.
For home loans:
AMP Bank has raised its package fee from $349 per year to $415 per year. That is a +19% jump and has the effect of raising both comparison rates, and effective rates even if their advertised rates haven't changed.
Bendigo Bank has fiddled around with its Complete variable home loan rates, depending on the LVRs. Interest-only rates are tending higher, but P&I are tending lower. Most changes are jut 5 bps either way, but some are as much as 20 bps (up).
For savings accounts:
Bank of Queensland has raised the bonus on its Future Saver account by +20 bps taking the potential up to an impressive 5.80%. But, that is only for savings account balances of $50,000 or less.
For term deposits:
Cousins Bank Australia, and Qudos Bank have added +5 bps to their three month TD rate taking it to 5.05%. And they have taken -5 bps off their 1 year TD rate, down to 5.25%.
Meanwhile, Suncorp have withdrawn their FlexiRate term deposit offer from sale. They are not signing up new clients, and existing accounts are on hold as they run down this offer.
