Today's changes to interest rates

Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Monday, September 7, 2026, so far.

For home loans:

Macbank has made some substantial fixed rate changes today. They have added between +15 bps and +30 bps to all their fixed rates for 70% LVR loans and higher. This applies to P&I and interest-only lending, for owner occupiers and for investors. Rising wholesale funding costs are behind their move, and those cost pressure will apply to their rivals as well.

Separately, Bank Australia advised that the 'special offer' for refinance lending will end on September 11, 2026

For savings accounts:

None to report today.

For term deposits:

None here either.
