Today's changes to interest rates

Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, so far.

For home loans:

ING has raised all its fixed rates across all terms by +20 bps.

Newcastle Permanent has trimmed -5 bps from their owner-occupier 'special' for LVRs 80% or less.

For savings accounts:

No changes to report here today.

For term deposits:

Macquarie has added +5 bps to both its Digital and Classic term deposit offers for terms 6 months (to 5.20%), 9 months (to 5.25%), and 1 year (to 5.35%).
