Today's changes to interest rates

Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, so far.

For home loans:

Commbank has raised its fixed rates by between +29 bps and +48 bps across all terms and all products. However for interest-only loans, these got lesser increases for fixed terms 3 years and longer.

For savings accounts:

None here either.

For term deposits:

Bank of Queensland has raised rates for its My BOQ accounts for terms 4, 6 and 7 months by between +5 bps and +20 bps. For their Premier Investment product the rises are between +10 bps and +35 bps for all terms from 3 months to 18 months.

Bank Australia and Qudos Bank are back with more increases. These range from +5 bps for 3 months to 5.10%, +20 bps for 9 months to 5.30%, +30 bps for two years to 5.40% and +40 bps for 3 years also to 5.40%. These two banks are pushing the boat out with market-leading rates.
