Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Thursday, September 24, 2026, so far.
For home loans:
No changes to report today. But we can note that wholesale swap rates rose sharply earlier today on the US bond rout. However they have eased back somewhat since the labour market data was released here. Still, they remain up about a net +8 bps, which on its own is a sizeable movement.
For savings accounts:
No changes to report today here either.
For term deposits:
ANZ has joined the 5.30% TD party, adopting that rate for a one year TD. It is notable because this change is somewhat out of cycle for them. They must be feeling the market pressure.
