Today's changes to interest rates

Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Monday, October 5, 2026, so far.

For home loans:

Bendigo Bank has pushed through its RBA related +25 bps hike to all its variable rates (although it has been quiet about the same rise for variable savings products). This applies to its Flex, Easy, Complete, and Express variable home loan rates.

Suncorp has said it has stopped accepting new home loan applications because it is hard at work moving its existing borrowers over to ANZ. (Who knows, but it may be the start of the extinguishing of the Suncorp Bank brand ?)

For savings accounts:

None to report today.

For term deposits:

ANZ has raised some non-key TD rates by +10 bps, for 1, 2, 9, 10, and 11 months. But none of these new higher rates come anywhere near their existing 7 month 5.00% or their 5.30% for 1 year, both of which are unchanged.
