Today's changes to interest rates

Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Thursday, October 8, 2026, so far.

For home loans:

Teachers Mutual Bank has raised all its variable rates by +25 bps.

We are expecting most of the main banks to do something similar tomorrow, the echo from the RBA rate hike.

Suncorp is now no longer offering home loans under this brand. They have all been shifted to ANZ (or are in the process of shifting).

For savings accounts:

Suncorp Bank has raised all its savings accounts by +25 bps.

Commbank said its 3.10% Netsaver introductory special will end at the end of today.

For term deposits:

Teachers Mutual have raised all their TD rates by between +10 bps to +50 bps, with their new six month rate now 5.10% and their one year rate 5.35%.
