Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Friday, October 9, 2026, so far.
For home loans:
ANZ raised its variable rates by the RBA's +25 bps today. They also hiked fixed rates by between +20 bps and +25 bps (although there were no changes to investor interest-only rates).
Commbank also raised all their variable rates by +25 bps.
NAB did too.
And Westpac.
ING, Greater Bank, and Newcastle Permanent all raised their variable rates by +25 bps as well.
For savings accounts:
ANZ raised all their at-call savings account rates by +25 bps, except they only passed on +15 bps for their Pensioner Advantage account for balances below $50,000.
Commbank upped its Netbank Saver by +20 bps, although it raised its introductory rate by +30 bps.
Westpac raised all its savings accounts by +25 bps, except they only raised their Save & Spend rate for 18-40 year olds by +20 bps.
ING raised all their savers by +25 bps.
Bank of Queensland pushed through a mixture of +20 bps and +25 bps rises for their savings accounts.
NAB put through the full +25 bps for all its savers, except for its retirement saver which only got +20 bps.
Greater Bank, and Newcastle Permanent both did something very similar.
For term deposits:
No changes to report today.
