Today's changes to interest rates

Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, so far.

For home loans:

No changes to report so far today.

For savings accounts:

No changes here either.

For term deposits:

Macquarie Bank has added +5 bps to rates for terms of 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 1 year, and taking this one year rate to 5.40%, and topping all other main banks (the Commbank 'special' is 5.30%, for example).

Bank of Queensland's my BOQ TD rates have been raised as well, also by +5 bps for most rates although their 1 year rate is up +10 bps also to 5.40%. However, BOQ has not raised its Premier TD rates at this point. (1 year for that is only 5.20% now).
