Today's changes to interest rates

Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, so far.

For home loans:

No changes to report so far today.

For savings accounts:

Heritage Bank have finally passed on the last +25 bps RBA rate hike in all its savings accounts.

For term deposits:

Macquarie Bank has made substantial changes to  their tier levels for term deposits even though no rate changes were made at this time. Instead of a $1 to $250,000 tier, this is now split into three; up to $25,000, $25 to $50,000, and $50 to $250,000. And prior to this change, the top tier capped out at $2 mln. Now it caps out at $5 mln.

Suncorp (ANZ) trimmed their 3 month by -25 bps to 4.80%. And their seven month rate was trimmed by -120 bps to 4.00%. But their 6 month rate was raised by +45 bps to 5.25% (and marginally higher than the old  7 month rate).
