Here are the changes the main banks have made to retail interest rates on Thursday, August 20, 2026, so far.
For home loans:
No changes to report today.
For savings accounts:
No changes here either.
For term deposits:
ANZ has followed others by taking -5 bps from its 1 year and 18 month terms deposit rates, taking both down to 5.25%. This level matches NAB and Westpac but is still higher than for Macquarie and Commbank.
Commbank has launched a new 'special offer" term deposit rate, for a one year TD at 5.15%. This is down from their prior 'special' of 5.25%. Note that no standard rates have been changed by Commbank today.
